For Students

Undergraduate Students:

If you are interested in joining our lab please contact Dr. Namy (lnamy@emory.edu). Undergraduates play an important role in our lab with tasks that include:

  • Coding and analyzing videotapes of child participants
  • Scheduling participants
  • Entering data
  • “Sib” sitting and assisting experimenters with data collection

Undergraduate research assistants may gain research experience in the Language and Learning Lab by  enrolling in independent study for credit (Psyc/Ling 499) , as a volunteer, or as a sophomore SIRE Research Partner.

All undergraduate research assistants must commit to a minimum of two semesters in the lab, working 10 hours per week during set, scheduled hours (mornings preferred).

The Language and Learning Lab is also an active participant in both the Scholarly Inquiry and Research at Emory Program (SIRE) and the Summer Undergraduate Research Experience (SURE)

Graduate Students:

Dr. Namy is not recruiting any additional doctoral students during the 2009/2010 application year.  However, there are several faculty who share Dr. Namy’s interests in language, categories, and cognitive development.  Please see the Cognition and Development Program Webpage for details.
