IMPORTANT: For student supervisors, re Workflows in Citrix
It appears that the basic Workflows installation has been updated in both Congruity and Similarity. (Somehow, the Internet folder of shortcuts doesn't show up on Congruity right now, but you can access Workflows through the Start menu, Programs, Sirsi.).
However, we're having problems with some of the Workflows by Department installations of Workflows (Acq, Cat, etc.) in Similarity. Until we get an all-clear from Systems staff to use these, please access Workflows through the shortcut in the Internet folder only, on Similarity.
TIPS, based on questions some of you have asked in the last couple of days:
The Preferences settings in Z39.50 (Smartport) client, appear to have reverted to some defaults that are not what we had chosen before.
Click on Preferences (top menu in Z39.50), set: Search Mode /Search Type change from Phrase Search to Word Search.
Also, try this in Z39.50: Preferences / Search limits / Number of brief fields to display - try changing from 2 to 4. This will give you place, publisher and date information, plus 040 (cataloging source, library symbols e.g. DLC DLC). You can always change it back if you don't want these fields.

In Workflows, go to Preference and check your Configuration. In the lower part of the screen, font should be set to Edit, and name should be PCGUI-EDIT. We've had reports of some other settings showing up; we're not sure the upgrade had anything to do with it, but better to check.

Another setting that may have changed from what
it previously was:
In Workflows: go to Preference, Desktop, Windows. Most staff
users want to be able to have two wizard windows open at a time, so Wizard on new window
and Multi-windows command mode should be checked. If you like having the names of
what the buttons represent show up when your cursor is over them, check balloon help.
Flyby help provides messages in the lower left corner, and sometimes you need all
the clues you can get, so it's another good one to check.

Some of you may have noticed that your function keys are still set to keyword mapping, and you get familiar "Display1 Item" or "Edit Item" screens when you use them. We're not sure why these are still appearing since Sirsi had indicated they wouldn't be available... and advise against using them because they may interact in unpredictable ways in the wizard environment.
Try going to Preference /Function keys and changing to Toolbar Mapping. You can see what wizards are assigned to your function keys and modify them to assign function keys to the wizards you use most often.
