Downloading and Personalizing the ALLTOOLS Toolbar
5/23/00

The ALLTOOLS toolbar in Unicorn 99.4 enables individual users to create a personal toolbar by a process of elimination. ALLTOOLS contains all the wizards for all Unicorn functions, and users personalize it by deleting the wizards and wizard groups that they will not use. ALLTOOLS is not included in the basic toolbar options in 99.4, so if you want to work with it you need to download it from the Euclid News web pages maintained by Library Systems. Use the following steps to download ALLTOOLS:

  1. Print out this document so you can refer to it as you follow the next steps.
  2. Click here to go to the Euclid News pages. Scroll down past the list of ESC minutes to find the notice about the ALLTOOLS toolbar.
  3. Click on "here" in the ALLTOOLS information to bring up the ALLTOOLS file for downloading. A screen of raw data should appear.
  4. Click on the File menu at the top left of your Netscape or Internet Explorer window, then click on Save As.
  5. In the Save In menu at the top of the Save As window, click on the D Drive (scroll up or down as needed to find it). Click the Open button at the lower right of the Save As window.
  6. Click on the Program Files folder (scroll right or left as needed). Click Open.
  7. Click on the Sirsi folder (scroll right or left as needed). Click Open.
  8. Click on the Workflows folder. Click Open.
  9. Click on the Toolcust folder. Click Open. Now you have reached the right place to save ALLTOOLS.
  10. Make sure the toolbar file appears in the File Name box (in the lower part of the Save As window) as alltools.tb; if it just appears as alltools, type in the .tb suffix.
  11. Click the Save button (lower right, where the Open button just was). This will quickly download alltools.tb from the web to your own computer. At this point you can close your web browser and go to WorkFlows to begin using ALLTOOLS.

Personalizing ALLTOOLS

  1. Open the Preference menu in WorkFlows. Choose Desktop; choose Toolbar; choose Display.
  2. In the Desktop Setup - - Config Toolbar window, scroll up or down to find alltools in the list of available toolbars.
  3. Click on alltools; click the OK button at the lower left of the Desktop Setup window. The alltools toolbar will appear in place of whatever toolbar you were previously displaying. (You will be able to return to your original toolbar at any time by choosing it from the list where you just chose alltools. The only way to eliminate your previous toolbar would be to name a new toolbar configuration with the previous toolbar’s name and then save it.)
  4. ALLTOOLS will display all the available Unicorn Wizards. Many of them may look unfamiliar. To find out what a wizard does, move your cursor over it to display its name. As you do this an explanation of its function will appear in the bottom left of your WorkFlows window. Use the cursor to determine the functions of the wizards and to determine which ones you want to delete from alltools.
  5. To delete a wizard or wizard group from ALLTOOLS, just right click (click the right button on your mouse) on it and then click on Delete in the resulting menu. You will see the wizard vanish from the toolbar. Wizards you remove can be returned at any time; you’ve removed them from your display , but not from Sirsi.
  6. Delete the wizards you don’t intend to use and keep the wizards you really want to work with.
