"Bullfrog" Oil on canvas, 8"x10" wide. Artist Commentary: Bullfrogs (Rana catesbeiana), and frogs in general, are always a delight to paint. There's so much texture and light play with them. As a species, bullfrogs can reach 8 inches in body length and over a foot long with legs outstretched. The bullfrog's skin color can be anywhere from light green to dark olive to nearly brown. As with all frog species, bullfrogs are a bellweather of the health of ecosystems.
