"Communion (T. alba)" Oil on canvas, 8"x10" wide. Artist Commentary: Owls have always had a special appeal for me...and this has been true since long before Ms. Rowling ever appeared on the literary scene. The common barn owl (Tyto alba) is especially mystical in its pale colouring and luminosity. This species is widespread in North America and is not endangered. In this image, I tried to capture the magical "feel"of this beautiful creature.
