"Chetwood" Oil on canvas, 13"x21" wide. Artist Commentary: I spent Saturday in the Chetwood, east of Bree. Autumn's palette is rich still among the hills that descend to Midgewater. I perched easel beside a stream that meanders through the crimson forests and sought to render the dawn. But Strider soon appeared, with four Hobbits in tow. They paused for a brief second breakfast, then hurried on their way, crossing the bridge and pressing on through gilded thickets.... |
