"Helm's Deep" Oil on canvas, 21"x13" wide. Artist Commentary: I spent Saturday in the Deeping-coomb riding across the valley and watching as Erkenbrand's men fortified the Hornburg. As evening drew on, the sun blazed on Helm's tower and the mountains surrounding Aglarond. The clouds and sky turned crimson then violet as light faded; those of us still outside quickly returned to the Keep as darkness fell..... |
