Artist Commentary: I've always had a fondness for Bilbo, and thought that there might have been a number of times after he left the Shire that he found himself travelling, either alone or with Dwarves, on the road to Imlandris. I wanted an image that would capture the immensity of the mountains and the relative bleakness of that road, and this was what I came up with.
