Artist Commentary: Arwen Undómiel is the betrothed of Aragorn, son of Arathorn, and it is during the time of the Lord of the Rings that we meet her has a mature woman. But during long years before Aragorn was even born, a young Arwen played in the halls of Rivendell. It is this Arwen, on the brink of womanhood, that I wished to depict in this painting.
