Artist Commentary: Nimrodel was the beloved of Amroth, last Silvan Elf-lord of Lórinand. She lived near a river, but when a Balrog appeared in Moria, she left for Edhellond to join her lover Amroth and leave Middle-earth for Valinor. However, she was lost after crossing the Ered Nimrais. The river which she dwelt nearby was later named after her.
