Artist Commentary: In this fairy tale image, two figures are gazing at something in the water of a pool. Light shimmers from the pool's surface, contrasting with the reds of sunset and the lights of a house beyond the garden. Who these two are (sisters? mother and daughter?), what they see in the well, what book is beside the younger figure, and what the significance is of the three birds winging their way off into the distance, I leave to the viewer....
