"The Four Rivers" Oil on canvas, 16"x10" wide. Artist Commentary: This image is of Christ atop the rock from which flow the four rivers of paradise (traditionally associated with the Tigris, the Euphrates, the Nile, and the Ganges rivers). In Christ's hand is the tree of life. This is a personal rendering of an image not often depicted in religious works, and I am borrowing heavily from traditional Byzantine iconography.
