Artist Commentary: This is an odd take on the usual imagery of St. George; here there is more ambiguity. The wings of the dragon frame St. George, almost as if they belong to him. Also, the cross/spear does not clearly pierce the dragon's head. Part of what I sought in the image was to explore the danger associated with fighting evil with it's own weapons...the slippery slope of "the ends justifies the means."
