Artist Commentary: The basic composition of this work draws from the famous "Lady of Vladimir" icon. However, I've added some non-iconographic details, some of which are apocalyptic. The seven stars could refer to Our Lady's seven sorrows; they may also be reminiscent of the seven stars of the King in J.R.R. Tolkien's legendarium. I leave it to the viewer to consider other possibilities.
