Lochalsh Dragon - In Flight "Lochalsh Dragon"
31"x29" wide

This young adult Kyle of Lochalsh dragon is only a few months old, yet is already flying. Not trained as a sentry. Hatchling was found in north Georgia in the Floyd Springs area. Lochalsh dragons have regularly been found migrating as far south in the U.S. as Cedar Key, FL, so a clutch in Georgia is not considered as unusual as it once was.

Care and Feeding - No special requirements. This young adult can handle his own feeding needs if windows are occasionally left open for night flights.

"Weddell Sea Dragon"
24"x42" wide

This adult Weddell Sea Dragon is an excellent sentry. Found as a result of a collision with a whaling vessel south of the Falkland islands, this dragon has since been nursed to health and trained for sentry duty. Weddell Sea Dragons are white to blend in with their Antarctic habitat. Like all Weddell dragons, this one "plays dead" remarkably well, putting would-be intruders off their guard. But they are extremely sensitive to changes in air currents, temperatures, etc. Weddells are known for their ability to spend large periods of time underwater in pursuit of fish and sea mammals. However, they can forage as well inland as in coastal areas.

Please note that this dragon has some discolouration around his mouth and some limbs which resulted from his collision.

Care and Feeding - This adult can usually handle his own feeding needs, but also enjoys hand feeding; sardines are a favorite with Weddells. Please note that this dragon cannot be kept in homes that have an aquarium unless you view same as a snack bar for your dragon! Please see disclaimers for more information.

"Lochalsh Dragon - Rainbow var."
24"x32" wide

A young adult Kyle of Lochalsh dragon. This one is about 7 months old and is flying. The coloration of this dragon marks it as a "Rainbow" variant, usually associated with clutches found in the Outer Hebrides. This dragon was captured after hatching when it was tangled in a fishing line in the open Atlantic, but has recovered nicely. Has been trained as a sentry and will stand guard over doorways or windowframes.

Care and Feeding - This young adult can handle his own feeding needs if windows are occasionally left open for night flights. Please see disclaimers for more information.

Lone Islands Dragon

"Lone Islands Dragon"
31"x24" wide

This young Lone Islands dragon is one of the relatively rare species normally found on the Irish coast. Although not as common now, "Lone Islanders" were frequently encountered in seaside caves in Ireland at the turn of the last century. With their fierce looks and "spidery" limbs, it is theorized that this species was the inspiration for the dragon encountered by Eustace Scrubb in C. S. Lewis' The Voyage of the Dawn Treader.

Lone Island Dragons are not fierce, despite their looks. They are reclusive, but make exceptional doorway sentries as their looks alone can discourage all but the most determined interloper. This youngster was stranded by North Sea squall line and has been hand raised since that time.

Care and Feeding - Lone Islanders will hibernate for long periods and will often only feed during warm months. An open window or fireplace will allow this youngster to forage. Please see disclaimers for more information.

"Belle Glades Dragon"
24"x32" wide

This adult Belle Glades (a.k.a. "Sawgrass") Dragon is feisty and enjoys a good romp. Sawgrass Dragons are not the most aggressive species; they herald from the Florida Everglades where there is plenty of food and where their only competition for it are alligators and the occasional Florida crocodile, both distant cousins.

Nevertheless, Belle Glades are beautiful dragons with the crocodilian snout typical of southern species. And, they are exceptionally bright and curious about their environment.

Care and Feeding - Will forage on its own if kept in a home with a pet door or where access is allowed to the outdoors regularly. If kept indoors for extended periods, can be fed on nearly anything...access to food dish of the family dog or cat is sufficient. Please see disclaimers for more information.
