Kalman Lab
Research Program

Goals   Publications   Environs

Drs. Kalman and Sherman occupy a laboratory facility in the newly constructed Whitehead Research Building at Emory University in Atlanta. Laboratory space of approximately 3400 square feet in an open laboratory format is shared with 3 other investigators in the Pathology Department (Drs. Zimring (immunobiology of T cells), Weiss (E. coli genetics), and Ye (GTPase signalling). A Mass Spectroscopy core facility is located across the street in the Winship Cancer Center. Our laboratory is configured for cell biology, molecular biology and biochemical experiments. We have two wide field deconvolution microscopes (Intelligent imaging Innovations) based on a Zeiss 200M platform. Our laboratory is located across the hall from the Epithelial Pathobiology Unit (formerly headed by Jim Madara), comprising several independent investigators interested in pathbiology of epithelial cells. The group includes Drs. Parkos (neutrophil signalling), Nusrat (tight junction signalling), Neish (Salmonella and inflamation),and Gewertz (mucosal immunity).
