Her dissertation, "Anticipation and Retaliation: The Impact of the Supreme Court on Congressional Decisionmaking," examines the impact of the anticipation of Supreme Court action on congressional decisionmaking and the aftermath of passage of legislation intended to overrule or modify constitutional Supreme Court rulings. This research is supported in part by a Dissertation Improvement Grant from the National Science Foundation. Other projects include analyses of the impact of public opinion on Supreme Court decisionmaking and of strategic behavior in the U.S. Courts of Appeals and the development of a hearing-based measure of the congressional agenda.
