Welcome to my home page! My name is Sascha Vitzthum. I am a Ph.D. Candidate at the Goizueta Business School where I study Information Systems with an emphasis on the impact of emerging technologies on businesses, individuals and society. My dissertation focuses on the principles of "On Demand Business" and the future impact on organizational structure and enterprise strategy. |
My prior research has included an investigation of RFID related corporate privacy issues and the exploration of visual information interpretation. Recently, I have employed computational models to explore the dissemination of information in random networks and the transfer of interorganizatinal knowledge during mergers and aquisitions. Both of the aforemntioned papers have been accepted for the upoming ICIS conference in Paris. Another research interest of mine is the growing proliferation of Enterprise Mashups. To examine the design and user accptance of Mashups, I have created the IS JOBMAP. A more detailed description of my research activities can be found here.
I have taught lectures at the BBA, MBA and Executive MBA level. As a Teaching Associate, I have co-developed several syllabi, designed online lectures and written two teaching cases. My teaching case on the issues related to early RFID adoption was recently published in the April 2008 issue of CAIS. Prior to the Ph.D program, I received my Masters in Business Administration and Economics from Koblenz Graduate School of Management in Germany. Besides Majors in Operations Management, E-Commerce, and Entrepreneurship, I also completed Minors in Technology Innovation Management, Marketing, and Economics. My work experience reaches across several industries. I have worked in the software and technology development, outsourcing, consulting, and music industry. My assignments have taken me to Germany, India and Russia.
