Hello, I am the Director of The Emory University Mass Spectrometry Center. I received my Bachelor of Science from Muhlenberg College in Allentown, PA. I then went on to get my Ph.D. from the University of Delaware under the direction of Dr. Doug Ridge. The work I did for my Ph.D. involves the study of the reactivity of excited state transition metal ions using Ion cyclotron resonance mass spectrometry. After the Ph.D. , I went to Texas A&M University to do Post-Doctoral work under Dr. David Russell. This work involve the development of a magnetic sector time-of-flight tandem mass spectrometer. I then came here to Emory University. My research interest involves the development of Mass Spectrometry methods and instrumentation for analysis of compounds, which are only available in small quantities. In particular I have an interest in tandem mass spectrometry. You can find out more about my research by reading my publications.
On the fun side, I am a fan of New York Giants Football . More recently I have become a
scuba diver. I have done lot of scuba diving by my parents home near West Palm Beach, Fl.
You can look at some pictures taken there with a Aquashot camera.
